Kith Celebrate Malibu Store with New Balance Collaboration
Established in 2011, has become a leviathan of high-end streetwear. With flagship stores in New York (Manhattan and Brooklyn), Los Angeles, Tokyo, Paris, and the Seoul location, Fieg continues to expand operations with the latest outpost in Malibu, California – set to officially open its doors this month.
Celebrating the recent South Korea store with an collaboration in May, Kith are now popping the champagne in Malibu with a two-shoe collection featuring the and Inspired by the aesthetic palette of Malibu and the interior design of the new Kith flagship, both the 580 and 1300 feature a similar premium construction with canvas underlays, suede overlays, and natural leather accents. New Balance’s key elements continue with these models, including the classic ‘N’ New Balance logo on the lateral sides and New Balance embroidery at the heel.
For its part, the New Balance 1300 was a tech tour de force that arrived in 1984. The silhouette hit shelves in its classic grey and icy blue palette for $130 and was advertised alongside the tongue-in-cheek slogan, ‘Mortgage the house’. Over on the 580 side of things, the model was first introduced in 1986. Originally released as a trail running shoe, the 580 was primarily available in the Japanese market, which played a crucial role in establishing its early popularity.
