RELEASE REMINDER: The second instalment to the Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 series is set to unleash this Saturday June 7. Don't sleep, you can expect these wont hang around for long. Find them over at
Accidental skate sneaker of the century, the Air Jordan 1 has been and now a shred legend who helped immortalise it has been given the chance to put his own touch on it. Lance Mountain was part of the , and back in the 80s he skated in mismatched Jordans, cos he had mad style. He noticed other skaters putting their own personal touches on their odd Js too, like slogans, graphics and even dipping them in paint to at least attempt to have some sort of colour consistency. That's the vibe Mountain is channeling with this new Air Jordan 1 pack, pairing a black/red AJ1 with a black/royal rendition and then cloaking it in either black or white paint. The more you shred, the quicker the paint scratches off, forging a weathered look unique to the way you skate. The idea might sound a bit , but Nike owns Converse so they can probably borrow from each other, eh. Unfortunately, the insoles are emblazoned with a bizarre and totally not bossin' personal Lance Mountain mantra, 'Paint shoes, not walls'. Whatever, you can always take 'em out. The Nike SB x Air Jordan I designed by Lance Mountain will be available in limited quantities at select Nike SB retailers and from June 7.
