LeBron Will Wear Nike LeBron 16 'King' in Season Opener

The NBA season is nearly upon us and attention is centred on . Even in the offseason, talk of LeBron’s move to the Lakers and his 16th signature with has been unending. While we wait to see how the King will fare with the Lakers, his on-court footwear has at least been confirmed.

His first game in the purple and gold will be played in the appropriately named LeBron 16 ‘King’. It comes dressed in regal burgundy Battleknit, with stately accoutrements like leopard heel counter and gold Swoosh adding the jewels to the King’s crown.

Burgundy? Gold? It’s a familiar combo for the former Cav, but the inspiration comes from an Air Zoom Generation ad from early in Bron’s career rather than his old team colours — apparently. We’ll leave you to decide on that one.
