The history between and sneakers is a long and storied one, with the largely leading the pack in terms of influence and sporting history, and the Big Cat still dominating the sport with a little help from . Over the past few years however, plenty of brands have been trying to tap into the motorsport market, and have now tapped seven-time F1 Champion for a collaborative collection – sneakers and all.
But while low-profile, slimline shoes may have dominated the tracks, Hamilton’s Dior colab couldn’t be more different. Swapping fast cars for the slopes, the capsule actually centres around skiing and snowsports, blending the change of scenery with influences from African culture in a shared vision between Hamilton and Kim Jones.
For this collection, Hamilton and co have prepped three colourways of the ultra-chunky Snow Sneaker, each boasting near monochromatic leather and mesh uppers with a traction-heavy, tire-inspired midsole underneath. The collaborators have also worked on the B44 Blade LH, an aggressive-looking runner silhouette, where two of the colourways look to take cues from some OG .
The Lewis Hamilton x Dior capsule is expected to land later this year. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for the deets.
