Live a Life Aquatic in the FRESH RAGS x Saucony GRID Web ‘Manatee’
Florida boutique FRESH RAGS have announced a new collaboration with on the retro runner. Named and inspired after the manatees endemic to the region, these aquatic coloured sneakers not only look good, but they will directly assist in the survival of these underwater critters.
The Saucony GRID Web has been an occasional feature for brand collaborations, and all have been pretty solid so far – FRESH RAGS included. There are some on-trend colours like olive suede and beige mesh, but bumpy textures throughout representing algae are an interesting touch. As is the electric blue web pattern (in part where the model gets its name from) overlaid on the mesh, which is complemented by the heel midsole accent and ice sole – a somewhat unorthodox inclusion for a 2000s runner, but it works well. Neon green stripes on the heel reference the eel grass found in the manatee’s habitat.
The FRESH RAGS x Saucony Grid Web ‘Manatee’ plus matching apparel releases in-store on June 26 at FRESH RAGS’ Pinellas Park location, before a wider on June 28. Proceeds from accompanying sticker packs and raffle tickets sold at the in-store drop will go towards the Save The Manatee Club.
