Livestock Expressly Deliver the adidas Velosamba ‘Triple Rush’
The Velosamba is a purpose-built variant of the widely popular that’s designed specifically for cycling use. This is achieved by way of its forefoot sole cutout that allows compatibility with two-bolt cleat systems, such as Shimano SPD and Time ATAC. Canadian boutique are highlighting the cycling subcultures the Velosamba is made for with their own ‘Triple Rush’ collaboration.
The term ‘Triple Rush’ is commonly used in the bicycle messenger industry to denote a delivery of utmost urgency, consequently commanding the highest premium rate. It was also the title of a 2011 series that portrayed the (slightly dramatised) day-to-day of NYC bike couriers, a detail that Livestock no doubt took inspiration from.
While #messlife is comparatively nowhere near as prominent as it was in the 2000s (even by then, it was a dwindling industry), the new collaboration celebrates those who still tear it up on two wheels. As such, practical materials like ballistic nylon and suede are paired for low weight and high durability. The Velosamba’s sticky rubber sole remains, as does its aforementioned cleat plate. ‘Triple Rush’ is spelled out in bright orange on the lateral side instead of the usual ‘Velosamba’.
The Livestock x adidas Velosamba ‘Triple Rush’ is available now directly from Livestock. Sadly, it looks like the release will only be available to North American customers, as the store has temporarily suspended international orders.
