Go ‘Singin’ In The Rain’ with the Magic Stick x Clarks Wallabee GTX
Japanese entity have already had their fair share of desirable collaborations, but this upcoming GTX effort may be their most practical yet. Designed for the rainy rigours of Tokyo streets, these upgraded ‘bees are built tough.
That largely comes in the form of its GTX designation, meaning it has waterproof yet breathable membrane lining the shoes for ‘Guaranteed To Keep You Dry’ protection. That assumes the layer is even put to the test if water somehow breaches the rugged ballistic nylon and suede upper, which also has a raised heat-sealed trim at the edge of the midsole to stop any ingress. Heading down to the soles, the usual crepe rubber – while stylish, doesn't offer much grip in the rain – are substituted for what appears to be a much more technical alternative courtesy of Vibram. Other useful features are the extra large pull tabs on the heels and thick, hiking style rope laces for functional reliability. The clean grey colourway, off-white sole and orange accents also lends itself to daily wear.
The Magic Stick x Clarks Wallabee GTX will be available on July 30 directly from their web store. Buyers outside of Japan may need a plug.
