Maison Kitsuné and PUMA Reunite for Sophomore Collaboration
Japanese-French label first collaborated with earlier this year for a low-key take on some Big Cat classics. The two brands are back this season with a bolder sequel that’s also complemented by some co-branded apparel.
This time around, Maison Kitsuné have picked out PUMA’s Crepe, which, as the name suggests, is a crepe-soled version of the vintage Suede design. Rather than just slapping a wedge of plantation rubber underneath the uppers, they've sculpted the spongy stuff to match the contours of the original midsoles, sans the tread pattern. This is because crepe is naturally grippy and its bumpy texture is to be celebrated. The neutral palette is contrasted with baby blue Formstripes and Maison Kitsuné’s fox branding.
Meanwhile, the Mirage Sport, a modernised version of an archival PUMA runner, receives a bold two-toned blue and beige colourway that’s finished in suede and mesh. The chunkier proportions and large panels lend themselves to bold contrasts, and are finished with trail-inspired hardware and laces.
Rounding out this capsule collection is a full range of apparel, including basic t-shirts and sweats, also extending to luggage and other accessories.
The Maison Kitsuné x PUMA collaboration will be available on November 12 from PUMA and select global stockists.
