Founded by Masakki Homma in 1997, mastermind JAPAN offer a high-street take on classic punk rock flair – an ethos that's displayed across the four shoes in this collection by way of unique detailing.
Each features what mastermind JAPAN calls a 'cut-and-paste appearance', which translates to design tweaks like asymmetrical midsoles, doubled-up tongues, exposed foam detailing, altered branding, reimagined Jazz Stripes and more. All four are also loaded up with mastermind JAPAN's signature skull-and-crossbones motif plus plenty of text hits on midsoles and uppers alike. The Sk8-Hi even takes its inspiration a step further with leather jacket-esque metallic silver zippers that run up its collar. This isn't the Japanese brand's first go-around with Vans' Vault line – they've done , and in the past – but it is their most detailed!
