Miami Heat: The Nike LeBron 8 Returns to ‘South Beach’
It really has been 10 years since first released the ‘South Beach’ aka ‘Pre-Heat’. For a long time it was one of the most coveted sneakers of the early 2010s, and also a refreshing contemporary release that, for once, wasn’t a retro silhouette. However, in a somewhat ironic twist, what was formerly the brash new kid on the block is now a member of the old guard, as Nike are set to return to ‘South Beach’ and bring the LeBron 8 out of retirement.
This isn’t the only instance of Nike tapping into LeBron James’ Miami Heat days. Back in May this year, the LeBron 8 V2 was reissued with a much wider allocation than its original single-store launch. In comparison, the OG ‘South Beach’ was more abundant, yet still sold out rapidly around the world. Perhaps there will be even more pairs to go around this time
For those who didn’t make it to ‘South Beach’ the first time, this is more or less a one-to-one remake of the original. The teal and pink colourway is very retro Miami, and the basketball tech packed into the LeBron 8 has somehow developed a retro charm. Today’s ball shoes owe their tech to the full-length Air and Flywire structures that preceded them.

Update: The Nike LeBron 8 'South Beach' retro drops on July 22 via Nike SNKRS.
