The Air Jordan 11 ‘Jubilee’ Is Releasing Again!
By the time news broke of the , the ‘Jubilee’ colourway that released alongside it was long gone to personal collections and reseller sites. Fret not, fashionably late sneakerheads can take another shot at the W later this year. So, what’s the story with this new ?
Among the multiple happening this year is the 25th of the iconic Jordan signature. With nothing but low-cut editions releasing in 2020, following the late the year before, it seemed had almost forgotten about the 11. Alas, yesterday’s news of the Adapt update and now this ‘Jubilee’ colourway has proven they were simply saving the best for last.
Which is exactly what’s happening with this release that is scheduled for December 12 – keeping with JB’s annual tradition of a big AJ11 drop right at the end of the calendar year. The mostly black colourway refers back to early Tinker Hatfield sketches of the at-the-time new flagship model. There are many similarities to the famous OGs, but here there are flashy lashings of silver on the polished Jumpman branding and eyelet Jordan spell out (a feature that was intended to be used on the ‘DMP’ AJ11 from 2006, but the letters fell off – the intact pairs still fetch big bucks). Elsewhere, ballistic nylon uppers, patent mudguards, and ice soles are the defining features of the model that are retained.
The Air Jordan 11 ‘Jubilee’ will release in full family sizing on December 12. Good odds that some younger sneakerheads will be keeping their pairs on ice to rock to prom. History repeats itself.
