Mizuno Reel in Fishermen for Latest ‘Kizuna’ Release
have been releasing limited edition sneaker packs as part of the ongoing ‘Kizuna’ series since 2021. These packs represent cultural and historical heritage unique to Japan, where the brand hails from. The next release draws upon fishermen, one of the staple occupations and suppliers of arguably some of the most important food in the country.
The pack consists of three major Mizuno models: the , Wave Mujin TL and . Each pair is rendered in deeply saturated teal and seafoam green to reflect the murky depths from which fisherman reel in their bounty. The suede and mesh-heavy palettes are also an appropriate narration of the variety of nets essential for the daily catch. This is all contrasted by Mizuno’s Wave technology used in the midsoles of each model in varying degrees of integration, from hidden internals to the full-length system of the Prophecy. The pairs are finished off with a small fish motif branded next to the Mizuno ‘RunBird’ logo on the heel.
Mizuno shot a lookbook in the small Japanese fishing town of Ine, which is dotted with tiny boathouses across the coastline. Check out the snaps above ahead of the next ‘Kizuna’ drop scheduled for December 2.
