Japanese Monsters Haunt the 'Yokai' Wave Rider 10 Pack
Despite the sinister season coming to an end, are still feeling the paranormal vibes. Their latest pack is called ‘Yokai’, which is a Japanese term used for all things spooky, although not necessarily evil. Its star is the silhouette – a modern classic that comes correct in a trifecta of colourways each inspired by legendary monsters in Japanese folklore.
The first monster featured is Gashadokuro aka Odokuro, which translates to ‘rattling skeleton’ and is a gargantuan skeletal figure in modern Japanese mythology that roams the countryside at night. The inspired colourway boasts a brooding grey, black and purple build and hosts a ribcage graphic detail on the tongue. Next up is Chōchin’obake, which is a haunted lantern spirit, and its character comes through on sandy beige, black and red colour palette with its signature spooky eyes haunting the tongue. Finally, the most eerie of this triple-header pack is Yūrei, which is comparable to the Western idea of a ghost and is a spirit that has come back to the physical world usually with ill intentions. For this one, Mizuno look struck deep black and blue accents across and off-white base, with empty eyes peeking out of the fog as its tongue art. Each of the graphic details on the three models is hidden underneath a mesh panel on the tongue, which can be cut out with instructions provided in the box.
Mizuno’s latest Wave Rider 10 ‘Yokai’ pack in ‘Gashadokuro’, ‘Chōchin’obake’ and ‘Yūrei’ colourways land on November 15.
