Mizuno's Wave Rider 1 Goes Parisian Chic
’s recent revival has certainly been a surprise. However, considering how perfectly the fits into today’s sneaker landscape, maybe it shouldn’t have been.
This year has already seen the Japanese running brand collaborate with and , and now they’ve teamed up with French outfit to celebrate the third anniversary of the Club 75 boutique.
La MJC’s Michael Dupouy has doubled-down on the 90s influence, taking the Wave Rider 1 and dressing it in red, green and black (inspired by David Hammons’ 1990 work ‘African American Flag’). The sneaker keeps all its usual tech, updated for the 21st century — suede and leather ensure durability, while mesh panelling will keep them breezy. The model’s signature wavy midsole is as eye-catching as ever with a red-black fade, and adding the finishing touch to another cracking Mizuno colab.
These will release exclusively at Club 75 on June 23, with remaining pairs hitting their online store on June 24.
