NBA Sneaker King P.J. Tucker and Dolce&Gabbana Join Forces on the Miami
The NBA’s undisputed ‘King of Sneakers’ is joining forces with legendary Italian fashion house for a special project inspired by vitality, passion, creativity and sportsmanship. Taking to the luxury label’s Miami silhouette, Tucker has finessed two new collaborative colourways that each pay homage to classic basketball sneakers from the early 90s.
Having graced courts across the globe, Tucker’s style is now combined with Dolce&Gabbana’s creative prowess, breathing new life into their popular Miami low-cut sneaker. Speaking exclusively with Sneaker Freaker, Tucker says his international experiences have played a key role in shaping his sartorial sensitivities.
‘Being able to play all around the world, being able to see different people in their element, in different countries, I think it all contributes to my total style,’ says Tucker. ‘Being able to not be locked in to seeing just one way of living, I think that is a big thing in fashion, and also in being able to curate your own style.’
Featuring a neat mix of different materials, the Dolce&Gabbana x P.J. Tucker Miami is set to arrive in ‘Sicilian Orange’ and ‘Beige’. It’s a playful aesthetic, with an unmistakable touch of Italian luxury.
The orange version wears a suede upper that contrasts with yellow laces, as a microinjected Dolce&Gabbana logo and the P.J. Tucker signature come embroidered on the shoe’s heel and tongue. Meanwhile, the beige version also arrives in suede, and boasts the same contrasting embroidered signature.
To celebrate the launch of these two Dolce&Gabbana x P.J. Tucker Miami colourways, the first 100 pairs sold will be signed by P.J. Tucker and paired to an exclusive NFT (see below for a sneak peek). The launch takes place on June 29 via ! These Miami sneakers will become an intangible art piece, abstract yet substantial, merging two worlds that are very close to Dolce&Gabbana: the physical and the virtual. You’ll also be able cop pairs at select Dolce&Gabbana boutiques from late-July.
