Neon Lights Up the New Balance 992
After finally releasing the in ‘Triple Black’ (or all-black, murdered out, etc.), are keeping things in Dark Mode with this latest take on their revived model. While likely to not pass uniform rules for hospitality, security and education workers, it’s likely many will try to slip these fun neon-dipped NBs into their daily rotation.
‘Triple Black’ 992s were an inevitability, an event kicked off by the M992BL, which first released at the beginning of 2020. But it wasn’t quite all-black because it still had flashes of NB grey throughout its upper and sole. Eventually, the M992EA delivered what many were waiting for, with its completely black finish. After satisfying that specific demand, NB are slowly reintroducing colour back to the black 992. Which for this new release sees neon yellow N logos and outsoles, red ABZORB forefoot inserts, blue heel clips, and very subtle dark purple midsoles and heel counters.
Many sneakerheads will be familiar with the 992’s quality build by now, but here’s a refresher for those who aren’t yet acquainted. Pigskin suede and mesh makes up the uppers, which are lined with some supple microfibre. Underfoot is an ABZORB SBS-infused midsole, promising both cushioning and support.
This new 992 is available now directly from New Balance.
