New Balance's GORE-TEX 2002R Is Ready to Take on the Elements

Time and time again, the 2002R keeps showing up strong. Whether it’s colabs with or the , the retro runner has become the go-to for both comfort and style, come rain or shine. Thus it seems fitting that the Boston brand is releasing a version of the model that is perfect for all-weather wear.

Built on a black mesh base for breathability, the silhouette brings in a combination of grey leather underlays and black suede over the toe box, quarter and heel. In classic New Balance fashion, a white 'N' logo is stitched on to the side, as well as a GORE-TEX logo on the heel that highlights its waterproof functionality. This is backed up by an ABZORB midsole that provides responsive cushioning and comfort for all-day wear and a rugged black outsole for durable rubber traction.
