New Balance continue their successful run of the 2002R with a slew of new colourways and collaborations, each bringing a unique element to the performance model turned street favourite. Up next is another pair equipped with a rather practical stash pouch that’s attached to the laces, working in tandem with utilitarian materials.

On the upper, the usual suede and mesh combination best associated with NB runners is substituted for sturdier selections of brushed nubuck and ripstop nylon. Reflective inserts on the toe box overlay and N logos add to the functionality of the design while simultaneously ensuring a useful safety feature. Underfoot, the N-ERGY midsoles are distinguished here by the multiple shades of grey and beige to complement the upper. Of course, the main feature of this pair is the aforementioned zippered pouch that is threaded through the thick rope laces to store coins, keys and other loose bits. Some may remember this feature prominently used on the very rare ULTRAOLIVE x NB 990v3 that dropped back in 2019.

This New Balance 2002R, officially codenamed M2002RVC, is available right now from Limited Edt. It looks like this colourway will roll out in the Asia region first, as atmos are scheduled to release them later on July 16.
