New Balance Salute the M1300JP with Special 57/40 Colourway
boldly-built already pays homage to one of the brand's classic silhouettes (the ), but now it's doubling down on its homage with a fresh colourway that nods to the legendary . The 1300JP is an ultra-exclusive version of the that's only released , is produced in Japan of the highest quality materials, and last released in 2020 when it was priced at over $600 and still sold out instantly.
If you're looking to get a little of that 1300JP flair without having to shell out a fat stack of cash or wait until 2025 for the next retro release, this 57/40 is a much more palatably priced choice. It offers an alternate take on the 1300JP's signature blend of stone, cream, grey and blue shades, making the stone a touch lighter than the 1300JP to differentiate itself but still largely adhering faithfully to its 'big brother' silhouette's palette. It's built from a mixture of suede and mesh, and completes its look with a TPU heel clip plus a two-tone, twice-stacked midsole.
This commemorative 57/40 is available now via New Balance's Japan web store and is priced at a tax-included ¥15,400, which translates to roughly $134.
