Tread in the Black and Red New Balance 650

New Balance are entering the new year with a continued campaign for the 650 retro basketball shoe. With it already doing numbers via ALD colabs and inline colourways, this latest example of the latter dips into a classic combination of black and red.

High-top counterparts to low-cut shoes seem to be less approachable by some, but the effective colourway here should change some minds. Besides, there between the 550 and 650. The taller ankle of the latter means there’s a bit more real estate to work with, which NB make use of here by dressing the area in black leather before making room for the bright red collar. This accent colour also appears on branded elements, the N logo, and parts of the outsole tread.

The New Balance 650 in black and red is available now from retailers, including 43einhalb, who have opted for some dark and moody shots, as shown above.
