The New Balance 990 Continues Its Hot Streak
timeless series continues to be a popular option for sneakerheads in the 2020s, with the legendary line recently given a shot in the arm thanks to expert curatorial eye.
It’s been hard to fault any of the 990 designs arriving under Teddy’s tutelage, and the founder is also frequently tapped to launch long-forgotten silo’s in the New Balance archive.
The latest 990 to arrive exalts all the characteristics of the 1982 classic, albeit while adjusting the materials to incorporate modern technology. Manufactured in hairy suede, pigskin suede, mesh, and leather uppers, the coveted Made in USA edition contains a domestic value of 70 per cent or more. In terms of tech, the 990 utilises New Balance’s signature ENCAP midsoles, combining lightweight foam with durable polyurethane rims.
Rendered in tan and green, the autumnal colourway is limited to one per person.
Look for the New Balance 990 to arrive on January 26 via the brand’s official website.
In the meantime, make sure to the AURALEE x New Balance 1906 that hit the runways in Paris this week!
