The New Balance 990v2 Visits Brown Town

Remember when an insightful and eloquent sneaker commentator said that ? This New Balance 990v2 is a perfect example of that statement, as it maximises the aesthetic pleasure of the retro runner turned street staple.

Forming part of NB’s MADE in USA Season 2 collection, this browned-out 990v2 makes a fairly simple palette swap while maintaining the model’s OG suede and mesh specification, but there are some fluffier panels than others. Various shades of brown are arranged across its upper, from the lightest golden brown to the darkest chocolate. Some tasteful off-white colouring is found on the laces, tongue, mesh and midsole. Key branding elements are kept at maximum saturation, from the N logos, tongue embroidery and visible ABZORB insert in the heel. A reflective heel tab with ‘USA’ embroidery completes the set.
