This New Balance 990v6 and 997 Are Strictly Paris-Exclusives
While an influx of Paris-themed sneakers were to be expected this year, they’re not all made equal. Among a slew of tangibly linked colourways and references, other brands have looked to different areas of the city for inspiration, resulting in pairs like this one. The Made in USA ‘Paris’ is the Boston-born brand’s homage to the French capital, drawing on influences from the city’s architecture, and their own Parisian store. And, as expected, it looks like it could drop just in time for the Games.
Working atop the newest silhouette in NB’s , the ‘Paris’-themed pair opts for an opulent combination of ‘Rich Oak’, ‘True Brown’ and ‘Afterglow’ hues. Put simply, it starts with a cream-coloured mesh base that comes encased in decadent tonal chocolate and overlays, while a silky red wine-shaded sockliner and forest green ‘N’ logo balance out the otherwise neutral palette. The colours used are all reminiscent of handcrafted elements within the relevant store. As expected, the uppers are crafted from premium materials, while an ENCAP midsole unit rests comfortably underfoot for a supremely comfy ride. Final finishing touches included specially-adorned Parisian-themed insole graphics.
With the Games kicking off next week, current rumours suggest that the ‘Paris’ Made in USA 990v6 could land on July 26. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for more details.
