The New Balance Allerdale Is For Sophisticated Steppers

Simply put, make great shoes. By mixing quality design and craftsmanship with streetwear hype, the Boston-based brand has shaken off the ‘for your dad at the BBQ only’ label and ascended the sneaker tier ladder. They have found success in both bringing old models out of the vault and releasing new designs. From the Made in UK side of the house comes another recently developed model specifically developed for walking: the Allerdale.
The model is inspired by England’s Allerdale District, specifically the village of Flimby where the Made in UK factory is located. Drawing on the UK’s spirit of refined luxury, the Allerdale is built to look good in every environment while being comfortable enough to get you to and from every occasion. It uses thick-cut leather tumbled throughout the upper, offering elevated construction to the silhouette. It also features D-ring hiking laces and a thick rubber sole. While it may have a heritage aesthetic, it is not short on modern technology, with Ortholite insoles and FuelCell foam.
So far, the Allerdale has appeared in two colourways. The original, which can still be found in some sizes online, is a rich brown upper with a black sole. The newly surfaced second pair is all-white and is set to release some time next month for $250. Get to steppin!
