Tiago Lemos Debuts Latest New Balance Numeric 808 Signature Skate Shoe
With the imminent arrival of pro rider latest 808 signature sneaker, the skate line is set to get even more steezy. This model may look like something straight outta the late 1990s, but it’s packed full of NB’s latest and greatest grip-tape tech.
The brand has only really dabbled in skate footwear within the last decade (though their goes way back), enabling the Numeric line to have a fresh look without looking like a pastiche of yesteryear’s icons. Besides, NB have plenty of idiosyncrasies to draw upon: reflective forefoot lace loops and traditional eyelets are pulled from their technical runners, while an unerring focus on functional elements like large pull tabs comes as standard. They’ve also come correct with the punchy tricolour of red, white and blue that meets some non-negotiable NB grey accent.
NB’s expertise on the R&D side makes the 808 more advanced than most skate shoes on the performance front, though it might not be immediately obvious. Full-length ABZORB cushioning borrowed from their mile munchers to minimise slam impact and Ndurance rubber soles are examples of the 808’s hidden features, ensuring longer and stronger sessions out at the park.
The New Balance Numeric 808 lands on the NB website on September 1.
