New Balance Reference the 1970s with a Beautiful Blue 1300
Another fresh is here to vie for your attention, and it’s highly recommended you check these out. Blue 1300s have come and gone over the years, but this is one of the most memorable editions yet because of its archival references.
Like the seen , this 1300 uses NB’s premium pigskin suede for the majority of the sleek upper, but swaps out the usual contrasting mesh pattern for nylon at the toe box and ankle collar. Here, the blue is fairly tonal, but appears darker than the suede because of the different textures. For contrast, the nylon used on the tongue is woven white, pairing up nicely to the matching shoelaces. A big yellow N on the mid-foot panels instantly recalls late-1970s NB runners, namely the 355. Which, upon further inspection, seems to be what this 1300 is largely referencing.
Practical touches, namely in the black lining and outsole, continue the homage, while simultaneously helping the highest wear areas to stay looking clean. But it’s not just a straight palette transplant here; reflective underlays and heel tabs, plus two-toned ENCAP midsoles make this sneaker distinctly a 1300.
This new 1300 is out now directly from New Balance.
