New Balance Tokyo Design Studio Galvanise the TDS Niobium Concept 1

New Balance’s  Tokyo Design Studio has galvanised the TDS Niobium Concept 1 boot, dressing the utility model in a striking ‘Steel’ colourway. It follows a strong period for the versatile hiking silhouette, with a Snow Peak colab back in August last year, and a duo of hot GR  colourways in September.

Of course, the most obvious feature of the TDS Niobium Concept 1 is the fact you can convert it from a trail-stomping hiking boot to a comfy around-the-campsite mule with the simple flick of a zipper.

But that’s not all this model brings to the table. The waterproof eVent uppers and super grippy MT801 sole unit will protect you on your next adventure regardless of the conditions, while the ABZORB midsole will keep you comfy throughout the day. And just in case that quick transition from boot to mule wasn’t impressive enough, the TDS Niobium Concept 1 actually has a third option – the cozy slipper you can keep on when you eventually retire to your tent for the night.

New Balance were always well placed to capitalise on the current trail trend, benefiting from several decades of experience kitting people out for the great outdoors.
