New Nike Air Max 1 '86 Golf: Fore or Hole in One?

Do our eyes deceive us? Is this a restock? An early holiday miracle, perhaps? No. At first glance, the seemed to be restocking, as it returned for the first time in its illustrious history earlier this year to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Alas, this is no third chance at copping. Upon closer inspection, this bamboozlement is simply the oldest marketing move in the proverbial book, and the look alike is actually an in what appears to be a ‘Chlorophyll' inspired colourway.

This latest Air Max 1 ‘86 Golf is set for early 2025 and is the most recent silhouette to hit the greens. As golf has grown in popularity and traditional dress codes surrounding the sport relax, Nike have retooled a number of retros for the links. Not only has the pair received a golf-ready outsole, but it also has the coveted big bubble from the OG 1986 design.

The strategy to don it in a very similar 'Chlorophyll' green is nothing new for Nike or any other brand for that matter. Whether it be takedown models or colourways inspired by hype shoes, the practice of selling shoes similar in appearance to the highly coveted ones is business as usual for sneaker brands.

Whether the ‘Chlorophyll’-esque colourway is simply good business or profiteering, this latest offering from Nike Golf is set to release sometime in early 2025 and will carry a retail tag of $150. Here’s to fairway drives and smooth putts, keep it locked here for updates.
