Update February 23, 2023: Finally, the Nike Air Foamposite One 'Eggplant' will launch through SNKRS US and select retailers on February 29.

Update January 31, 2023: Following the Air Foamposite One 'Eggplant' release in select regions across the globe, the US release has been postponed. Expect pairs to land at select stockists and SNKRS on February 29 instead of the originally expected February 14.

Update January 12, 2023: The Nike Air Foamposite 'Eggplant' is finally dropping in other parts of the globe. The Swoosh are releasing the coveted pair on February 14 via Nike's website for $240.

Update January 11, 2023: One of the hottest sneaker releases of January, the Nike Air Foamposite ‘Eggplant’ has already begun appearing on Aussie shelves. So far, we’ve seen the colourway land at Supply, Subtype, Up There and USG. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for releases stateside and beyond.

Update November 28, 2023: After being unveiled to return in 2024 during Nike's SNKRS Showcase, it looks like the Nike Air Foamposite One 'Eggplant' is starting 2024 off with a bang. Update October 27, 2023: the 2024 retro of the 'Eggplant' has officially been confirmed via the SNKRS Showcase. There's no indication of what time of year the classic will return, but it will be joined by another beloved colourway, the 'Royal'. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.

Update June 20, 2023: The first-ever look of the 2024 Nike Air Foamposite One ’Eggplant’ has arrived. Unlike the OG, the latest retro won’t boast an iridescent foam shell. Peruse the imagery below and expect a release in January next year.

There was once a time when the Air Foamposite was the shoe to own. If you remember the 2010s, Nike’s polyurethane sneaker dominated hype headlines with releases like the ‘Galaxy’ and Supreme colab causing riots – literally.

In 2023, Foams don’t garner a tonne of attention outside of their cult-like following, but that may be all about to change as we shift into the midst of a Foam resurgence. Big releases like the ‘Penny PE’ and Comme des Garçons’ wild reinterpretation of the silhouette have catapulted the shoe back into the sneaker news cycle. Rumours have also begun to surface of a ‘Galaxy’ retro, and now the ‘Eggplant’ has allegedly been locked in to return.

The ‘Eggplant’ colourway is up there with some of the best Air Foamposite One releases of all time. Originally touching down in 2009, the most recent retro was back in 2017 (pictured above). At the time of writing, leaked imagery of the latest pair has yet to surface, but you can expect the classic ‘Eggplant’ vibe and ‘Varsity Purple’ to carry the Polyurethane upper alongside black nubuck panels and accents, a mini-Swoosh and an icy midsole.

So far, Nike are yet to confirm the Air Foamposite One ‘Eggplant’ retro, but rumours suggest a 2024 release for the Spring season and an RRP of $240.
