As celebrate the 40th anniversary of the over the course of 2022, they're saluting the Bruce Killgore-designed masterpiece's earliest styles with a new model dubbed the 'Vintage.' It was first revealed in a that nodded to the very first AF1 to hit shelves, and now it's appeared in a white and 'Light Chocolate' makeup that's another tasty turn to the earliest days of Force.
The original Air Force 1 boasted a substantial leather upper – Bobbito Garcia even referred to it as 'thick as sh*t' in – split by a mesh midfoot for a little extra flexibility and breathability. Both of those details return here, and the latter is split by a rich brown Swoosh that gives the shoe its name. More brown can be seen on the collar trim as well.
Nike couldn't resist the opportunity to display some 'aged' details as well, so both the anchor on the proprioceptus belt (which is woven instead of made from leather, of course) and the midsole feature a yellowed sheen. There's also bone-coloured cracked leather that can be seen on the heel, while at the bottom a brown outsole rounds off the look.
A release date and pricing information for this homage to Air Force 1 history has yet to be announced, but it's likely to hit shelves in the coming weeks. Keep it locked right here – we'll update you as soon as more info is made available.
