Nike Air Max 180 'Bluebird' Flutters into 2025
One can’t help but wonder if company letterhead has replaced ‘Just Do It’ in favour of ‘Just Vault It.’ For sneakerheads who are tapped in, the strategy is clear; Nike is bringing back sneakers at an unprecedented rate. Much has been made regarding the ‘nothing is off limits’ mentality seemingly being embraced in Beaverton. But it’s not just grails set to return this year. Sneakers like the and Air Max Plus VII bear witness to Nike’s commitment to return long absent products to the shelves. Joining these will be the Air Max 180 ‘Bluebird.’
Originally released in 1991 the Air Max 180 draws its name from its Air bubble, which is visible from 180 degrees. The Air Max 180 has returned several times, its debut colourway released just last year. The ‘Bluebird,’ however, has not been spotted since ‘91. 2025 will mark the first time in the sneaker’s 34-year history that the Air 180 ‘Bluebird’ retros. Appearing in that patented 90s pastel look, the ‘Bluebird’ boasts off-white suede overlays, white nylon, and eye-catching blue and green hits. The sneaker will come complete with the true-to-original ‘Nike Air’ branding on the heel and the ‘180 Air’ logo on the tongue.
