Skepta Isn't Impressed With the Nike Air Max 90 'Metallic Copper'
While new to the , the 'Metallic Copper' colourway is certainly not new to the Air Max family. It famously appeared on the , which most recently retroed in 2022, and this new AM90 honours the legend of that OG release. Sneakerheads will also recognise this look from the 1999 Air Tuned Max ‘Celery', and also took inspiration from it for his in 2017. Having since left the Swoosh for the , Skepta does not appear to be impressed by Nike's newest 'Scarab' offering, putting a picture of it on X with the caption 'LOL 😫😂'. While his caption doesn't give much away, one can assume he's not impressed that Nike 'copied' his 2017 iteration... of which he copied from their 1999 and 2001 releases...
Regardless of Skepta's beef with the pair, the shiny copper and green upper will surely be a head-turner. Looking true to its 'Scarab' beetle influence, the iridescent overlays change colour and warp according to the light, and they even look good in the dark thanks to reflective 3M black mesh. Translucent gum soles tie the design together, along with the traditional Nike tongue patch and Nike Air heel logo.
The Nike Air Max 90 'Metallic Copper' are locked and loaded on SNKRS for October 31 and will retail at $140.
