Nike Quietly Dropped a ‘Reverse Neon’ AM95 At the MoMA Design Store

The lines between sneakers and art are ever-blurring, but the Swoosh’s latest release has brought one of their designer’s famed early sketches to life. As Beaverton continues to celebrate the legacy of the the company quietly previewed a ‘Reverse Neon’ colourway at an event at the MoMA Design Store in Soho last night.

Based on one of original drawings, the celebratory pair flips the classic gradient so that a darker grey cascades down the pair's panelling, fading with every layer towards a white midsole. Neon accents then hit the usual spots, including the eyelets, Swooshes and Air Bubbles. Unlike last year’s reversed ‘’ colourway, the ‘Reverse Neon’ arrives in a hairy suede construction, adding a slightly more artisan touch in line with the MoMA launch. The accompanying event also saw the Swoosh preview a short film by that explored the cultural significance behind the AM95 silhouette.
