The Nike Air Max 97 Golf ‘Zebra’ is Finally Let Loose
The Masters Tournament wrapped up over the weekend, and amid the excitement of Scottie Scheffler taking home the green jacket, saw fit to coincidentally release some sneakers, such as the Golf ‘Zebra’, which was some months ago.
This edition of the AM97 Golf is best reserved for fair weather days, as the faux zebra hair upper doesn’t lend itself well to the water resistance of other golfing shoes. However, thanks to its unique wavy black and white pattern, there’s unlikely any other footwear on the green that looks like this pair. The zebra pattern is actually dyed cow hair on leather, so they should hold up with careful use.
The AM97 Golf is also one of the street friendlier designs too, as its outsole doesn’t have a hard sole plate nor fittings for studs. Instead, the firm rubber tread is rippled to provide just enough grip on grass, while remaining walkable. Being part of the Air Max family, this pair’s namesake cushioning system provides full length padding and relative comfort – probably offset somewhat by walking on grass.
Pairs are selling quickly, so head over to Nike to cop the Air Max 97 Golf ‘Zebra’ before they’re all gone.
