Nike Air Max 98 Pays Homage to the Interstate 95

The   is preparing to honour the famous Interstate 95 Highway that pretty much runs the length of the East Coast of the USA. The I-95 is just short of 2,000 miles (a tick over 3,000 kilometres) long, mostly running parallel with the Atlantic Ocean, taking motorists all the way from Maine to Florida — if they choose to travel the whole length.

The AM98 created in the highway’s honour rocks a Black, ‘Gunsmoke’ and ‘Lava Glow’ colour palette, delivered on a variety of textures across the upper. As for the specific elements inspired by the I-95, the ‘Gunsmoke’ gives off a strong bitumen vibe, while the ‘Lava Glow’ is somewhat reminiscent of the line of red tail lights that you’ll inevitably follow along certain sections of the highway — especially the visible Air unit in the midsole.
