This New Nike Air Zoom Flight 95 Draws Inspiration From a Jason Kidd PE

Update September 6, 2022: The bulbous Nike Air Zoom Flight 95 in ‘White/Photo Blue’ has been locked in to hit shelves! Head to SNKRS on September 17 to cop.
classic may not have been Jason Kidd’s full-on signature shoe, but the bug-eyed basketball sneaker has always been tied to the Hall of Fame point guard. J-Kidd wore it on-court during the 1995–96 season as he led the Dallas Mavericks, and besides wearing in-line colourways like the famous , he received several PE styles over the course of the year. Now, one of those PEs is seemingly serving as inspiration for a general release makeup that’s dropping as part of the Air Zoom Flight 95’s 2022 revival.
The style in question is dressed mainly in a mixture of white and black. However, it’s adorned with bright blue and green trim and Swooshes, a nod to the colours of the Mavericks’ uniforms. The upper’s midfoot overlay features a carbon fibre-inspired texture, as do the signature ‘bug eye’ pods on the midsole, while straightforward black outsoles finalise the look. As you can see in the photo below, the colour blocking on this pair is almost identical to Kidd’s #5 PE – and it must be mentioned that the trailing, -wearing Avery Johnson’s isn’t too shabby either!
We’re currently without a release date for this Kidd and Mavs-themed Nike Air Zoom Flight 95. But it’s likely to release in the coming weeks and should retail for around $150–160.
