A brand spanking new silhouette from team Swoosh, the is primed to hit shelves this month. Taking visual cues from classics like 1982’s , an American football shoe Nike recently resurrected, and extraordinarily popular General Purpose Shoe, the Nike C1TY exudes a GORP-core flavour heightened by elements like the trail-esque rubber outsoles. It’s not all for show, either. Built with a mesh upper for breathability, the Nike C1TY also utilises reinforced sides and toe boxes to help guard your feet from the elements.

While clearly borrowing elements from the General Purpose Shoe and the Field General, it looks like the C1TY is also channelling other models in the Nike canon, including the industry-defining (especially in terms of the uppers) and the women’s Nike Wild, an outdoors-ready retooling of the classic hoops sneaker from the 1980s. Interestingly, the debut colourways actually take cues from traffic cones, especially the 'Safety Orange'.

The green and grey Nike C1TY is primed to launch on September 18 for $120, and the follow-up orange colourway is expected to arrive over the coming months. Check out the official images above and keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
