Run, Don't Walk – The Nike Cortez 'Forrest Gump' Is Returning

The Nike Cortez is an iconic silhouette that most have come across at least once in their lives. Of course, the 1972 sneaker gained even more attention after being featured in Tom Hanks’s Forrest Gump in 1994. The model made a comeback for its 50th birthday in 2022, and the Swoosh are now bringing it back in the ‘Forrest Gump’ colourway once more, but this time in a premium version.

Initially debuted in 2018, the ‘Forrest Gump’ iteration arrives in its original design featuring a white leather upper complemented with a cherry red Swoosh and heel. Red also appears on the ‘Nike Air’ embroidered tongue logo and insole, whereas a hint of blue has been placed on the midsole in a subtle gradient design. For a luxe touch, the lacing system comes with a silver lace dubrae with a mini Swoosh in the centre. Rounding off the style is the iconic waffle rubber outsole in white.

You can expect the Nike Cortez ‘Forrest Gump’ to be available on May 1 via Nike’s website for $110. Take a closer look at the style above.
