The Nike Dunk Low ‘Día De Los Muertos’ Celebrates the Heart and Sole
Día de los Muertos (‘Day of the Dead’) holds a special place in the hearts of sneakerheads the world over. An annual holiday celebrating the lives of family members lost, Día de los Muertos has also inspired some of the best sneaker designs in recent years (headlined by the ‘Day of the Dead’ in 2009).
This year, Nike are already planning to roll out special renditions of the and Zoom CMFT 2, both models of course expected to perform well given their long success in the market. Now, a third model is joining the festivities, the women’s exclusive Dunk Low also arriving later this month.
Manufactured in textured leather and embroidered accents, the model takes cues from the hummingbird and marigold, both central themes for Día de los Muertos folklore. Elsewhere, blasts of pink strike the embroidered Nike heels, tongue tabs and insoles. Crisp white midsoles and old school gum outsoles complete the design.
Look for the Nike Dunk Low ‘Día de los Muertos’ to arrive on October 21 for $125.
