Despite having no shortage of inspiration for new colour ways, are sticking to their guns and reissuing familiar hues for their en vogue . This time, the venerable Be True to Your School series is revisited, with the collegiate palette of Iowa, colloquially known as ‘Goldenrod’ making its way onto the model once more.
The model has been the must-have sneaker of 2021, which has struck a chord with newcomers and super OG sneakerheads. Arguably easier to wear than its high-top equivalent, the Lows also offer a more balanced arrangement of colour, especially in two-tone BTTYS format. Paired with black, this specific shade of yellow is also a pleasing correction of the ‘ that dropped in 2020, which sort of served as an almost-there ‘Goldenrod’ retro. Now, the real deal is back, down to the nylon tongues and woven labels. One change that has been made from earlier renditions of OG Dunk retros is the mesh lining, which perhaps is a practical consideration for daily wear.
The Nike Dunk Low ‘Goldenrod’ – well, the brand is officially calling it ‘Championship Goldenrod’, probably in reference to the collegiate connection – returns on December 16 at Swoosh stockists globally.
