The Nike Field General 82 Gets Smooth with 'White Gum'
The is set to make a grand comeback this year, with images surfacing of a in two clean colourways and a crisp hitting shelves earlier. Now, a classic ‘White Gum’ iteration is set to arrive, further introducing Swoosh history into 2024.
The Field General first launched in 1982 as a turf shoe for football players, and the red and white variation that dropped earlier this year was the first time it has returned. Unlike the original model, this red and white pair didn’t come with obvious cleat soles. Instead, the sole mimics cleats in smaller sizes for a seamless look and added traction for the wearer. The ‘White Gum’ colourway takes the same approach, but swaps out the full leather upper for a combination of mesh, tumbled leather and suede. The white base is complemented with creamy hits on the Swoosh and heel, and the design is of course finished off with a ‘Gum’ outsole.
There’s no official date for the Nike Field General 82 ‘White Gum’ yet, but it’s expected to land on shelves in mid-2024 for $100. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for more details.
