Nike Finally Retro the Air Max 90 ‘Spruce Lime’
It’s been a long time coming: the ‘Spruce Lime’ is returning in under two weeks’ time. The other other other OG AM90 colourway was last seen in 2008 as a JD-exclusive in the UK, with international awareness restricted to the handful of pairs that successfully Brexited to users of Internet sneaker forums around the world (though a few size runs did make it to World NYC store). Before that, the ‘Spruce’ moose graced serious runners – including Australian champion – during its 1990-91 debut. We digress.
Like the AM90 colourways that returned in 2020, Nike have paid extra attention to getting most of the details correct. Areas like toe boxes, mudguards, Swoosh tails – even arch insert packaging – are heavily scrutinised by ardent Air heads, and thankfully, the majority will be pleased. The ‘Hot Lime’ is especially fluoro on the Swoosh and insole, while the highlighted Air unit is a bonus addition to this retro. ‘Spruce’ spruiks the mudguard, top eyelets, and heel logo, plus colours the waffle tread outsole sections. Elsewhere, classic white and grey accents provide a clean break against the distinctly 90s colours.
The Air Max 90 ‘Spruce Lime’ retro will release on January 25 at selected Nike retailers.
