Nike Indigo Dye Their ISPA Drifter
has been continually pushing the boundaries ever since its inception a few years ago, creating neck-breaking silhouettes that challenge conventional sneaker design. One of the stars within their ever-expanding offering has been the tabi-toed Drifter, and now they’ve taken this futuristic sneaker and applied old-world Japanese indigo dyeing techniques to give it a new look.
The Nike ISPA Drifter was first seen in 2020, and debuted alongside a slew of other ISPA silhouettes. It’s a mid-cut model and merges traditional Japanese work boots with futuristic sneaker design. Crafted for everyday wear, the upper has been created using breathable fabric and sits on a midsole created with ZoomX foam.
This new indigo-dyed iteration keeps the same construction, however boasts a beautiful blue hue that covers the whole shoe. Interestingly, the indigo dye that’s been used has been sourced by indigo experts BUAISOU and, because they’re done by hand, no two pairs will be the same! Finishing the design, and adding more of a Japanese feel, is the embroidered that’s been placed on the upper.
For those that aren’t located in Japan, it may be harder for you to acquire this Nike ISPA Drifter because it’s set to only drop in The Land of the Rising Sun on August 30. They’ll retail for approximately $551.
