The Nike Kobe 5 Protro ‘X-Ray’ Has Arrived on SNKRS With Matching T-Shirt Pack

The Kobe sneaker kingdom continues to live on posthumously, with Nike continuing to manufacture and release a swathe of iterations alongside Kobe’s wife, Vanessa Bryant. She’s also had a hand in teasing the upcoming pairs, with the latest arriving over the weekend. Fresh from Beaverton, it seems another Kobe 5 will be in the works, this time dubbed ‘X-Ray’.

Vanessa Bryant shared a first-ever look at the upcoming model, which pays homage to a t-shirt designed by Nike for Kobe that was part of the 2011 ‘Broken Not Beaten’ campaign. The t-shirt featured Kobe’s skeletal hand, showing his many injuries and five championship rings. For the sneaker, the entire upper looks to be ensconced in a deep blue tone, with a skeletal drawing that’s reminiscent of the Halloween skeleton Air Force 1s. Elsewhere, Nike have added electric blue Swooshes and glow-in-the-dark outsoles.

There’s been no official word from the top about a release date, but word on the street is you can expect the Kobe 5 Protro ‘X-Ray’ to land in October.
