The Nike Kobe 8 Protro Returns to 'Venice Beach' in April
Originally released in 2013 as part of signature line, the ‘Venice Beach’ is a colourful homage to the eclectic LA area. The area is known for being lively and for its skateboarding and basketball communities, so this iteration hits both of those references with a vibrant sports shoe. It hasn’t seen a re-release since its debut, but the Mamba Mentality is set to score in 2024 with the multi-coloured hooper making a return.
The Kobe 8 isn’t constructed for colour blocking, so it’s usually styled with insane patterns across the upper instead. The ‘Venice Beach’ takes a painted approach, with red, blue, red, and green strewn across a grey mesh base. Orange takes on the sock liner, while yellow covers the laces and Swoosh outline, and blue graces the top section of the midsole and heel cap. The tongue brings some balance in a dark grey, with the Mamba logo stamped on the front in yellow and blue.
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro ‘Venice Beach’ is expected to land on April 13, 2024 for $190. It will be available at Nike and select Nike Basketball retailers.
