The marks the first time we were able to deck our feet in the likeness of King James. The solid sneaker was built for an aggressive style of play, yet it was lightweight, supportive and breathable. It’s hard to see it now, but the design was a real breakthrough back in the day. Today, we can still enjoy the performance aspects of the shoe – though the tech may be a little antiquated – but it’s the angular geometry and simple style that keep our minds wandering back to where it all started.
