Nike Reference Their History with the Waffle Racer 2X
A humble waffle iron was responsible for some of in the 1970s, so they pay tribute to this fact with a new 2X release. This model is a reimagined form of the heritage runner, and not only features enlarged proportions, but also a little waffle iron swing tag!
Like so many sneakers from that golden era, this one uses suede and nylon construction, but gets a modern update with ripstop panelling on the toe box and quarters. The waffle tread wraps the forefoot and reveals spaced out rubber studs. They certainly look cosy.
