Retros are always a bone of contention in sneakerdom. Naysayers will nit-pick every difference between the ‘superior’ OG and the rerelease, whereas newcomers welcome the opportunity to nab a pair they missed out on first time round.
It’s usually the most coveted men’s releases that get retroed, so women’s drops are rarely subjected to the same scrutiny. Well, are now bucking the trend with this upcoming ‘Laser Pink’ retro.
Every bit as 90s as the original, the white and grey upper is splashed with purple on the Swoosh and heel counter, while pink pops on the lacestays and midsole give it its name.
Pink and purple sneakers risk veering into – dare we say it – girly territory, but when it’s as OG as ‘Laser Pink’, our nostalgia trumps any misgivings.
