Brazilian skateboard prodigy Rayssa Leal is inching closer to rolling out her first collaborative SB Dunk Low. Leal became a viral sensation at seven years old when her mum posted footage of the youngster landing a textbook heelflip in a fairy princess costume. A Tony Hawk cosign on Twitter saw the tutu-clad skater dubbed ‘The Little Fairy of Skateboarding’ (‘A Fadinha do Skate’ in Portuguese) and she proceeded to trundle towards greatness.

Before her 11th birthday, Leal became the youngest street skater to win a women’s final on the Street League Skateboarding World Tour. The young phenom then took out the Silver Medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games at just 12 years old. Leal’s next milestone to make you feel like an underachiever? The 15-year-old is slated to release an exclusive SB Dunk Low, and there’s now some fresh-off-the-floor teases of what to expect from Leal’s take on the go-to skater shoe.

News of the colab first broke in May this year. There wasn’t much to go off at the time other than some proof of concept shots. The design brief was pretty tight-lipped, but the pair was teased to feature ‘Pure Platinum’, ‘Deep Royal Blue’, ‘Vivid Purple’, ‘White’ and ‘Gum Yellow’ colours. The full picture is still to be unveiled, but there are now some first-look shots courtesy of @fuelkicks. What’s most notable is that these samples display a more subtle composition than the first mock ups, but the sneakers are still equipped with the promised colour palette.

The shoe sports a white leather base with textile overlays and a ‘Deep Royal Blue’ leather Swoosh. True to Leal’s unique and fairytale style, her logo can be found stitched in ‘Vivid Purple’ on the heel. The white rope laces are sprinkled with fairy-esque blue, gold, and purple smiley dubrae charms. To mark the occasion of her first SB Dunk Low, the kicks will be boxed up in special packaging and feature an extra set of laces.

While this new pair will be Leal’s first SB Dunk Low, it is her second Nike colab. She dropped her Nike SB Verona Slip in 2022.

At the moment, the Rayssa Leal Nike SB Dunk Low is rumoured for a January 11, 2024 release date and is expected to be available at select skate shops in-store and online, but stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for more updates.
