Are Nike Bringing Back the Playstation x Air Force 1?
Originally released in 2006, the uber-limited PlayStation x could be making an unexpected comeback. Rumours of a return emerged earlier this year following the release of , but Nike has added fuel to the fire by featuring the coveted colab on its SNKRS section.
A 'Friends and Family' release, the colab was given to Sony employees, sweepstakes winners and Kobe Bryant, who featured on the cover of NBA 07: The Life Vol 2 PS3 game. Only 150 pairs were released in the 2006 run, with 50 revamped pairs released in 2009.
Featuring black patent leather detailing, a blue gradient on the heel harks back PlayStation’s startup menu. There’s a classic PlayStation logo patch on the lateral side of the heel, with eye-catching purple laces (a preproduction model featured red laces) and blue outsole rounding things out. The 50-pair second drop featured a full patent-leather upper.
A potential style code has also surfaced, coinciding with the Inside the Vault legacy feature. Whether the new code belongs to the the 2018 PlayStation x Nike Air Force 1 remains to be seen. We’re sure there’s more to come — we’ll be sure keep you posted!
